DESCRIPTION:I will sail to Chaika tomorrow afternoon\, starting from the "marina Tortuga" by the lake\, picking up guests from the port probably around 18:15 if there will be any\, and then to Chaika.\n\nThe boat has been standing still for a month now\, I expect there to be significant growth of barnacles on the propellor\, meaning that we may have to go a bit slow when using the engine.  According to the forecast there will be no wind at all\, and typically there will be headwind all the way - but I hope to do some sailing in the bay.  I'm not planning to sail for longer distances with one knot of speed - we'll set an arrival deadline around 21:30 (adjusted to the bus schedule if needed) and use the engine to make sure we can get there in time.\n\nI'll try to arrange for some dinner either on the way or on the arrival.\n\nI do need a plank or piece of wood\, one to three meters long\, if you have anything like that available then please bring it along.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:We'll grill some whale meat Tuesday evening.\n\nMeetup-point will be at the Port of Varna\, out on the outermost west pier\, Captain Georgi Georgivich Yacht Club\, at 17:00.\n\nPossibly we'll also do some sailing (but it has to be coordinated\, at least one person is expected to arrive around 20).  It's promised calm and warm weather\, not much waves.  Sunset is at 19:43\, it would be nice to be out in the bay at that time\, possibly in the Galata bay.\n\nI don't have much time available\, so this event is poorly planned and will probably be poorly executed as well.  I will try to slice up the meat and marinate it\, but may need help with most other things - like bringing some other things for the grill\, salad etc.  There will be one birthday celebration onboard. I'm starting to panic as things are going very slowly while I'm doing (almost) everything alone. Some extra hands would be much appreciated.\n\nWe'll start around 17 and work for 2-3 hours\, then we'll have a dinner (plan is to have a barbecue out on the deck plus serve some lentil stew and a salad). Food and drinks will be served. I have decided to pay 20 EUR/hour*) plus food for any extra help this week. Please indicate when you have the possibility to come\n\nThe work that needs to be done:\n\n- Varnishing - hull sides are most important\, but also the superstructure (should not be done after\, during or before rain\, and not too early in the morning or too late in the evening and not on very windy days)\n\n- Quick cleaning with acetone and inspection - any dirt\, tape leftovers\, etc should be removed very well\n\n\n- Places where the varnish has come completely off should be measured with the moist-meter. Areas where the meter shows "very wet" should not be varnished as for now.\n\n\n- Light grinding with 180 or 240 sand paper (some surfaces may be sanded using the orbital sander (ROS)\, other surfaces needs hand-sanding)\n\n\n- Removal of the sanding dust with a dry textile/brush\n\n\n- Removal of the remaining dust with acetone\n\n\n- Varnish with diluted varnish\n\n\n- Wait 24 hours\n\n\n- Light grinding again\n\n\n- Cleaning away grinding dust again\n\n\n- Varnish again\, but with undiluted varnish\n\n\n\n\n- Anti-fouling\n\n- This is black work - literally! Protective clothing recommended. Face mask recommended while grinding\, and a hot shower when you get back home.\n\n\n- It's needed with a quick grind using the ROS and 40 paper. It's not needed to grind away all the old antifoul\n\n\n- Painting with antifoul using a roller and a brush\n\n\n\n\n- Misc tasks that requires more than two hands\n\n- The bow platform should be disassembled - it's needed to screw from the outside and from the inside of the anchor box.\n\n\n- The port side mid cleat should be disassembled - it's needed to screw from the inside and outside.\n\n\n- Rudder should be lifted back in place\n\n\n\n\n- Someone also needs to make lunch/dinner and serve.\n\n\n- Bonus tasks:\n\n- cleaning the surfaces inside the boat\n\n\n- Removing corrosion from stainless steel parts on the outside\n\n\n- Pumping up the SUP and dinghy\n\n\n- Patching the SUP for air leakages\n\n\n- Fixing a new bench plate for the dinghy\n\n\n- Measuring the hull\n\n- I need some drawings and measurements of the hull\, for the purpose of ordering/constructing a future cradle - so I need some 6-12 point readings with the following data:\n\n- Horizontal length distance from the stern of the ship\n\n\n- Horizontal width distance from the center-line of the ship\n\n\n- Vertical clearing from the ground\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*) That is\, 20 EUR per effective working hour. Preferably while it's not raining heavily. If you have the possibility to come\, either at the time indicated or at any other time\, then please tell. Please inform in advance when/if you have the possibility to come.\n\nNote that there is a risk of clothes becoming dirty or stained\, so consider wearing your cheapest clothes.\n\nThe tasks for Wednesday will be:\n\n- A little bit of epoxy/glass fibre work - generally I can do this alone\, but when the epoxy has been mixed I'm always in a hurry - it may be challenging to cut pieces of glass fibre to the correct size and adjust things\, and it may be difficult to get things patched well in heavy winds with only two hands.\n\n\n- The rudder is almost repaired - I want to lift it up and try to put it in place - not permanently\, but just to see that it fits.  It's heavy\, so definitively a two-person job.\n\n\n- Some epoxy work gluing the rudder roller bearing to a piece of wood.\n\n\n- It may be needed to think a bit on how to proceed with the rudder work\n\n\n- Remove the damaged bow platform. DESCRIPTION:From the 23rd of February\, I will prioritize maintenance of "Solveig"\, and I hope to launch it before the 1st of April. Help will be appreciated - the faster we get it out the more local sailing we'll have time for before my departure from Varna! I'm generally accepting help any day and time\, just give me a notice when you have the possibility to help.\n\nSome of the tasks needed to be done:\n\n- Repairing the rudder with glass fibre and epoxy\n\n\n- The sails needs some maintenance\n\n\n- There is quite some work with the electrics indoors\n\n\n- Inserting and gluing the rudder axis roller\n\n\n- Patching the hull with glass fibre and epoxy\n\n\n- Painting it with anti-foul\n\n\n- Helping with ropes\, belts\, communication etc on the launch day!\n\n\nFood and drinks will be provided.\n\n
